I don’t know anybody who can’t use a good flashlight. These days lights that are sewn into or attached to ball caps are very popular and have many uses in the field. The advantage of this type of light is that both hands are kept free allowing you to work unencumbered.
This new model has a twist – literally. It not only attaches to the bill of your hat but you can attach it to the interior of a ground hunting blind, your tree stand, web gear, pack straps, your shirt pocket – almost anywhere you could think of where you might need very bright light directed. The white light has a two position switch for high and low intensity. There is a second switch marked in red on the control panel that activates a red beam which is useful for walking in and out of your hunting area without alarming game. It also is useful for reading maps or checking your GPS as well.
The back cap is the battery door and has a locking position which locks the battery compartment solidly. It seals out the elements while securing the battery so there is no rattle to be heard. This little led lamp runs on one AA battery and while we used the Energizer 360 almost daily in our extensive field test it has not required a replacement battery in almost 4 months of service.
The olive drab green and black outer case blends right in with most camouflage patterns. There is a tension adjustment at the bottom of the main casing to keep the swivel ball in place where the light is to be directed. The spring on the cap mount seems to be a little too strong when attaching the 360 light to the bill of a cap but when attaching to web gear or the interior of a blind it seems to be just right.
Running a guide and outfitter service we have used lots of different types of flashlights but the Energizer 360 Cap Light has quickly become one of our favorites. I would definitely recommend the Energizer 360 Cap Light to any serious hunter, fisherman, backpacker or camper. I would like to offer a big thank you to the Energizer Corp. for consistently providing innovative products for the outdoors.
